Dr. Rita Sherma, Ph.D.
Dr. Rita Sherma holds a M.A. in Women’s Studies in Religion and a Ph.D. in Theology and Ethics from Claremont Graduate University, CA. She is a scholar of the World’s Sacred Traditions, author, professor, meditation teacher and instructor and practioner of Subtle Energy Medicine.
Dr. Sherma has published widely on academic perspectives on religion and philosopy, and authored numerous edited books, magazine articles, chapters in edited volumes, scholarly essays, and encyclopedia articles. has taught at universities in California, New York, and Arizona, where she has offered courses on philosophy; ethics; comparative religion; theology; spirituality; mysticism, and integrative healing.
With the systematization of Convergence Spirituality™, Dr. Sherma continues her work as a trans-religious theologian. Convergence Spirituality comprises theology, ethics, systematic praxis, and self healing. It integrates intellect, emotions, senses, movement, and intrinsic awareness, to create a complete system of inner transformation.
She serves on the Boards of several Foundations. She also serves as Director of the Institute For Theology Beyond Boundaries; Professor and Executive Director of Philosophy, and Religious Studies at Taksha Institute, Hampton, VA.; and the founder and President of the Convergence Center™, Casa Grande, AZ.
Dr. Rita Sherma is trained in several traditional, ancient, philosophical, meditational, and transformative healing modalities, and is an instructor and practitioner of Subtle Energy Medicine.Dr. Sherma teaches meditation, and has developed the Luminous Vision Healing Method™, a comprehensive system of meditation, envisioning, kinesthetics, biodynamic action, and clear awareness, which has been taught nationally and internationally for over a decade.
In her courses and workshops on intuitive healing, and energy medicine, she trains the individual to access and apply the intrinsic self-healing capacity of the body itself. Dr Rita Sherma has recorded two CDs on Energy Healing, and Sensory Exploration Meditation™ respectively.
